This individual cycling holiday in Marocco from Marrakech through the mountains of the high Atlas and back again is a challanging, heavy cycling route with a considerable number of altitude meters to conquer. Experience in cycling and/or a good physical condition is needed. 2 cycling days on sand and/or rocky roads, 7 cycling days on paved roads. The 2 days on the unpaved roads are suitable for MTB and Hybride bikes. Most of the trip, other traffic is hard to find. The exception are the last two days, when returning to Marrakech.  Marocco is a rough country with an abundance in spectacular sceneries. 'Hotels' with a 1001 night atmosphere are dotted throughout the country and easy to book in the off season. The rock formations in the high Atlas are from an unknown beauty in a wide spectrum of colours. Do try to sleep in a RIAD Hotel (formerly a palace with a surrounded wall and a perfectly keep garden in the middle of it) and pretend you are the new Kalief or Sultan.
